Refund policy
Memberships:
Refunds are generally not available for membership.
Please email us if you believe you have made an error in purchasing your membership.
Fairhaven SLSC membership offers a range of benefits including, but not limited to, the ability to participate in surf lifesaving services and activities which includes and covers insurance, patrols, surf sports, nippers, training and education programs and social activities as well as the right to access and use club facilities and equipment in line with the membership type and within the same season of membership. It is assumed that members will avail themselves of Fairhaven SLSC services and for this reason a refund for membership will generally not be available.
Course Fees:
Payments made for training course fees are refundable up to 7 days prior to the commencement of the course when written notice is given to the Vice President of Training and Assessment. For live in (camp) courses, fees are refundable up to 14 days prior to the commencement of the course.
Refunds are not granted within the above mentioned days of the course commencement unless unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances apply such as not able to attend course due to serious illness or COVID. This will need to be communicated to the organisers as early as possible and is not guaranteed.
Donations:
Due to the nature of charity donations, refunds are given at the discretion of the committee.
In the event of an incorrect amount being entered, or if the donation is made accidently or there is an extremely unusual circumstance, please contact us. The request should have the details of the initial donation including the date, amount, name of the donor, the receipt number and the nature of the error. The organisation will review the request and respond accordingly.
If a donation is refunded, the associated tax receipt is no longer valid and should be destroyed.
Please note: refunds of amounts donated will not automatically be made simply because you have changed your mind.
Merchandise:
We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like swimwear, custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
